3 Reasons to Visit Salar de Uyuni

Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world, is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet and is a must-visit destination in Bolivia. Go during rainy season when the sky is reflected in puddles, creating a phenomonal mirror effect!

1.  FIND THE PINKEST FLAMINGO.
Inside Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve, visit the Laguna Colorado (Colorful Lagoon),  the main nesting spot for three types of flamingos.  The red water there makes them very colorful!

2.  THE VIEW ATOP A VOLCANO.
Tunupa Volcano, now dormant, provides a spectacular view of the salt flats. Nearby is the Cave of the Mummies, an ancestral burial ground, where you can learn about early Bolivia culture and customs. 

3.  AN ISLAND IN A SEA OF SALT.
Isla Incahuasi is covered in cactus and surrounded by a flat white sea of salt.  There are numerous trails for you to walk as you search for that perfect photo spot!

3 Amazing Areas to Visit

1.  CAO BANG
The many shades of green are breathtaking in this area of the country.  Be sure to visit Ban Gioc Waterfalls on the border between Vietnam and China. It is the 4th largest waterfall among an international border after Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls, and Niagara Falls.  Click here to view our travel vlog!

2.  SAPA
Go to hike along the beautiful rice terraces, to experience a homestay in one of the nearby villages to learm about the ethnic people living in the region, and to reach the top of Mount Fansipan (known as the roof of Indochina).  Nature is all around in this lovely area of Vietnam.

3. MAI CHAU
Wake up with the chickens and take a refreshing bicycle ride amid the rice paddies in this charming Vietnamese town. 3 Ancient Monuments

1. THE REGISTAN
In the city of Samarkand, admist ancient structures with beautiful blue-tiled cupolas, is the Registan.  This awe-inspiring public square is framed by a trio of madrasahs (religious colleges).  Each is lavishly decorated with intricate motifs colored in blue, green and gold.  Nearby is the Old Market, where you can see the daily lives of locals. 

2. PO-I-KALYAN COMPLEX
The town of Bukhara is a must-visit to see the Kalyan Mosque, Kalyan Minaret and the Mir-i-Arab Madrasah, which make up the Po-i-Kalyan Complex.  The colors of the Kalyan Mosque and the Mir-i-Arab Madrasah are absolutely stunning.  Be sure to see the Kalyan Minaret at night!

3. ICHON-QALA
Ichon-Qala is the old town in Khiva. Take a walk along the city's  massive fortress walls.  Wander through the small alleyways and browse the small shops and stalls.

3 Things to Do in Marrakesh

1.  VISIT JEMAA EL FNA DURING THE DAY AND AT NIGHT
Jemma El Fna is the heart of the city, where you can find all kinds of interesting people -- from snake charmers, to acrobats, to musicians. When night falls, the area becomes a big night market with hundreds of stalls selling local bights. 

2. BROWSE THE MEDINA SOUKS
Marrakesh's old city district is a maze of winding alleyways, filled with tiny souks (or shops) where you can barter the day away.  The souks are named for whatever is sold there.   Be sure to visit the Babouche (shoe) Souk and the El-Attarine (perfume and spice) Souk!

3.  TAKE A DAY TRIP TO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS
There are many walking paths and you can visit small villages where the Berber people live.  It's very interesting to witness Moroccan culture outside of the big cities.  You get to witness honored traditions that have been around for thousands of years.
